AGENTS.md for monorepos
In a monorepo, keep shared conventions in the root AGENTS.md and give each package its own nested file with the commands and rules that only apply there.
Root file
Put repository wide rules in the root: git workflow, security boundaries, how to run the full test suite and how workspace commands filter by package.
Nested files
Add an AGENTS.md in each package or app, for example apps/web and services/api. List the package commands, framework conventions and testing setup there. Start the nested file from a preset for that package's stack.
Other tools
Cursor rules can be scoped with a globs entry such as apps/web/**, and GitHub Copilot path specific instruction files use an applyTo pattern. The generator writes both when you export from monorepo mode.
One download
Add a folder in the generator, choose a preset for it, and download every file as a single zip.
